What We Collect
Your email address and encrypted password when you create an account. Tasting notes, ratings, and flavor data you enter. Photos you take or select within the app. Café name, address, and GPS coordinates when you log a café visit and grant location permission. We also collect anonymous usage analytics — which screens you visit and which features you use, tied to your account ID. Your tasting notes, photos, café names, and locations are never included in analytics.
How We Use It
We use your data solely to provide TARE — syncing your tastings across devices and displaying them to you. We never sell, rent, or share your data with advertisers. We use PostHog for privacy-limited usage analytics as described above.
Third-Party Services
Your data is stored with Supabase (supabase.com), which provides our database, authentication, and file storage; servers are located in the United States. Subscription purchases are processed by RevenueCat (revenuecat.com). Anonymous usage analytics are processed by PostHog (posthog.com) — analytics events never contain your journal content. See each provider’s privacy policy on their site.
Messages & Offers
If you enable partner offers in Settings, TARE may use the cafés you have logged and your general area to choose relevant offers to show you. Offer selection happens within TARE — your identity, journal contents, and precise location are never sold or shared with partners. You can turn partner offers off at any time in Settings.
Data Retention
Your data is stored until you delete your account. Deleting your account permanently removes all your tastings, photos, and account information from our systems.
Your Rights
You can request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by emailing tristan.j.alba@gmail.com. We will process your request within 30 days.
